Prof. Myong's
research team won the top award for 3 consecutive years since 2019
The ACML research team
won the top award at the ‘The 3rd Thesis Contest for Commercialization of
Aircraft Certification Technology’ held at the Korea Institute of Aviation
Safety Technology on December 10th, 2021.
This competition was
held to award outstanding research achievements by universities (graduate
schools) and industry, academia, research, and government personnel for the
promotion of aircraft safety, and to advance aircraft certification and industrial
technology to improve aviation safety.
In this thesis
contest, master's students Donghyeon Kim, Jaehyeon Cho, and Yungon Kim received
the top award for a thesis titled 'Analysis of Cable Protection of Duct in
Lightning and HIRF Environment of UAM Aircraft and a Proposal for Certification
Guidance' (Advisor Professor Myong). With this, the ACML research team has won
the top award in the student category for three consecutive years from 2019.
In the general review,
the judges commented, "The literature survey and analysis on the lightning
and HIRF environment of UAM aircraft were excellent, and the structure and logic
of the thesis were excellent".
Gyeongsang National
University was selected as the first research center (ERC) in the aviation
field in 2017. ACML research team in GNU/ERC is developing aircraft core
technology with high efficiency and safety based on the linchpin technology
that is in demand in the industry.
