Prof. Myong will lead the Korea-US 2024 Workshop on Carbon-free Aviation Using Electrified Propulsion (March 20th) 2024.03.07ea-US 2024 Workshop on Carbon-free Aviation Using Electrified Propulsion (March 20th) 2024.03.07
The main topic of the workshop is sustainable aviation, especially fuel cell-based carbon-free electric propulsion systems and their impact on aircraft performance and design. The four presentations are invited to provide recent developments in the field of carbon-free aviation using electrified and hybridized propulsion systems. They are "The Transition to Sustainable Aviation" (Tennessee Tech University, US), "Issues in Developing Hydrogen Fuel Cell Commuter Aircraft: Retrofit vs From Scratch" (Gyeongsang National University, Republic of Korea), "Towards the Development of Carbonless Commercial Aircraft: Aerodynamic Performance and Structural Analysis Aspects" (Tennessee Tech University & University of Washington Bothell, US), and "Design of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Hybrid Distributed Electric Propulsion System for eSTOL Aircraft" (Hanwha Aerospace Co., Ltd., Republic of Korea).
